Start here
Plan the stay around Pebble Beach Golf Links if that stamp is the point of the trip. Fill other days with Spyglass, Spanish Bay, Poppy Hills, and/or Pacific Grove. Leave recovery between cliff walks.
If you want a cheaper week with no resort spend, base in Pacific Grove, skip Pebble, and run Poppy Hills + Pacific Grove + Del Monte when the sheet allows.
Day shapes that work
Pick a length first. Then lock the hard tee times and fill recovery around them.
3-day resort-heavy
- Day 1Arrive. Pacific Grove or Poppy Hills (legs and jet lag). Soft greens fee day.
- Day 2Pebble Beach Golf Links (the stay should already lock this tee time).
- Day 3Spyglass Hill or The Links at Spanish Bay. Depart evening or next morning.
Do not put Pebble on day 1 after a long travel day unless you have no choice. Morning fog and travel fatigue stack.
4-day with a weather buffer
- Day 1Pacific Grove
- Day 2Pebble Beach Golf Links
- Day 3Buffer (Del Monte, Poppy Hills twilight, or rest). Use this if the forecast is ugly on day 2/3.
- Day 4Spyglass or Spanish Bay

Pacific Grove Golf Links
Fees (official rates page, re-check live): 18 holes walking about $66 Mon to Thu / $89 Fri to Sun and holidays; twilight lower.
Booking: Groups of 2 to 4 up to 60 days; singles often within 7 days by phone. Confirm on playpacificgrove.com.

Pick the base for the tee times you already hold, not the other way around.
Pebble Beach Resorts (Lodge, Inn at Spanish Bay, Casa Palmero)
Best when Pebble is on the card. Request tee times when you book the room. Minimum stay rules apply for Pebble Links (confirm live). Highest lodging cost; simplest path to an advance Pebble time.
Pacific Grove / Asilomar side
Good for Pacific Grove Golf Links mornings and a quieter stay. Short drive to Poppy Hills and into the 17-Mile Drive / resort gates when you have a tee time. Confirm gate and parking rules for your tee sheet.
Monterey (downtown / Cannery Row area)
Central for dinner and airport logistics. More drive time to Pebble and Spyglass on tee-time mornings. Fine if you are mixing publics and one resort round.
Carmel / Carmel Valley
Works for a longer stay with non-golf days. Budget drive time to first tee. Do not invent hotel rates here; check live inventory.

Pebble Beach Golf Links
Resort guests at The Lodge, Inn at Spanish Bay, or Casa Palmero can reserve more than 24 hours ahead, subject to minimum stay. Ask for the tee time when you book the room. Non-resort guests: 1 day in advance only (per resort FAQ).
Other Pebble Beach Resorts courses
Spanish Bay or Del Monte: non-resort up to 6 months. Spyglass: non-resort up to 3 months. Always re-check pebblebeach.com.
Poppy Hills
Online up to 90 days at poppyhillsgolf.ncga.org. Singles: golf shop phone on that site.
Pacific Grove
Up to 60 days for groups of 2 to 4 on the course rates page; singles may call within 7 days. playpacificgrove.com.
Book the hard tee times first (Pebble, then Spyglass), then fill publics around them.
Weather and backup days
Expect marine layer mornings, afternoon wind, and sudden fog on the coast. Inland Poppy Hills can feel different from Pacific Grove on the same calendar day.
You usually cannot casually move a resort-locked Pebble time without talking to the resort. Call early. Do not assume a free swap onto Spyglass.
Shift to Del Monte or Poppy Hills if the sheet has space, or take the rest day you built into a 4- or 5-day shape.
Do not force Spyglass the next morning. Pacific Grove twilight or a true rest day saves the week.
Pack layers. Coastal mornings run colder than downtown Monterey forecasts suggest.
